Converting force
Force changes an object’s motion. One newton accelerates one kilogram at one metre per second squared. Kilogram-force uses standard gravity of exactly 9.80665 m/s².
How the calculation works
Multiply the source value by its base-unit factor, then divide by the destination factor. For example, 1 N ≈ 0.2248089431 lbf.
Precision and rounding
Choose 6, 10 or 15 significant figures for the displayed result. Calculations use unrounded JavaScript numbers. The ≈ symbol indicates that displayed results may be rounded; significant figures are display precision, not measurement accuracy.
